Messaging terms

These terms cover the text messages and emails sent to you through Posto, the booking software the restaurant uses. They sit alongside the restaurant’s own booking and cancellation terms, which the venue sets.

What you receive

  • Confirmation when your booking is made.
  • A reminder before the booking, which may invite you to reply YES to confirm or NO to cancel.
  • Notice when your booking is changed or cancelled, by you or by the venue.
  • A time-limited offer of a table if you joined a waitlist and a spot opens.
  • Replies from the restaurant when you message them about your booking.
  • Occasional news or events from the venue — only if you ticked the marketing box.

How you opt in

You opt in by giving your mobile number on the restaurant’s booking page when you make a reservation. That covers messages about the booking itself. Marketing messages need a separate tick on the same form; it is never ticked for you, and a booking alone is never treated as consent to marketing.

How often, and what it costs

Message frequency depends on how often you book. A booking usually produces a confirmation and a reminder; marketing messages, if you have opted in to them, are occasional.

Posto does not charge you anything to receive messages. Message and data rates may apply under your own plan with your mobile carrier.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any text message. That stops every further text to that number, marketing and booking messages alike, and takes effect immediately. If you still have a booking, the restaurant will contact you by email or phone instead.

For email, use the unsubscribe link on any marketing message. That stops marketing while leaving confirmations and reminders for bookings you have made.

How to get help

Reply HELP to any text message, or email support@bookposto.com.au. For anything about the booking itself — a change, a special request, a problem on the day — contact the restaurant directly; they are the ones with your table.

Delivery

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and neither we nor the restaurant can guarantee that a given message arrives. Treat your confirmation as the record of the booking, and call the venue if you are unsure.

Your details

What we collect and what we do with it is set out in the privacy policy. In short: mobile numbers are never sold, rented or shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the foot of the page shows when they last changed. They are governed by the laws of Australia. Questions: support@bookposto.com.au.
